Big Box Retail

This project is located in Central Park, Fredericksburg, and was completed in 2004.
The original shell building was stripped of its façade and rear walls, allowing for an
expansion and dock installation in the rear and a branded storefront façade. The
project totaled 37,500 square feet of turnkey delivery.

This was one of seven big boxes constructed as part of a 170,000-square-foot multi-tenant retail building in 2006. It was built on an accelerated schedule with substantial penalties and included coordination of shell and tenant architects for the turnkey delivery of this brand-specific space. It is one of two PetSmart projects built by DLR. The other is at Carter’s Crossing in Stafford County.
